The old legends have it that Merlin still lives, trapped in the Cave of Silence, awaiting the time of great need. Responding to this need, King Arthur will awake and free him and Merlin will be united again with his lost Magic. What an awesome trio that will be! Some legends would have us believe that Merlin was an old fool tricked by a young girl into revealing the secrets of his magic. I prefer to believe that Merlin had already foreseen his future. He knew that the only way he would survive to aid Arthur in his final quest was to sacrifice his freedom. I like to think of him playing his harp as he waits for the the time when he will be able to feel the sunshine...walk in the forest...work his magic again. Goodnight Merlin, where ever you may be sleeping...
