Merlin And Me

In case you haven't noticed, I have a slight fascination for Merlin. It started long ago when I was very young. I used to read everything I could get my hands on. The first time I read any of the King Arthur stories, I fell for the magic, the excitement of the Quest, the romance of Guinevere and Lancelot...just like so many other people. The second time I read them, I noticed one character that kept to the background yet controlled so many lives and events....Merlin! From that day on, the Grail, the glamour of the court, the spectacle of Camelot...took second place.... I wanted to know all about Merlin. I began to read and investigate this person who seemed of little importance to most people and here on these pages you will find links that will lead you to some interesting information.

Now to the good part, along with hope you must have belief...I believe in Fate, magic, reincarnation and Karma...I may not always practice them....but I believe... and like most daydream believers, I have developed an affinity with my dream hero, in this case Merlin. Everyone has a little magic inside themselves... some people just deny its existance and some people use it without realizing it. It scares others and they hide it deep inside and never really get to know what it is all about. And then there are people like Merlin, they are the healers and teachers, and they bring out the best in people.... and the worst...

I think the thing that my romantically inclined mind zeroed in on and latched onto is the promise. When Britain and the world is faced with a time of great need, Arthur will rise and lead the battle against the forces of evil and since Arthur was nothing without Merlin, he will be there too. [ I know, most sources do not refer to this but it had to come from somewhere... I refuse to believe it is a figment of someone's imagination! ] We all find hope in the things we love, and this is one of mine. If I could choose who I would like most to meet in all of time, it would be Merlin....... again.
